Georgia and Armenia: Two Countries, One Journey
Few itineraries offer as much diversity as a combined Georgia–Armenia tour. In 7–10 days you experience the Caucasus mountains, ancient cave monasteries, six UNESCO World Heritage sites, two distinct wine cultures (Georgian amber qvevri wine and Armenian brandy), and the legendary hospitality that defines this corner of the world.
Georgia (4–5 days): Tbilisi, the Georgian Military Highway, Kazbegi, and Kakheti with wine tasting. The standard "highlights of Georgia" programme — old town, monasteries, mountain scenery.
Crossing into Armenia. From Tbilisi to Yerevan is 280 km by car via the Sadakhlo/Bagravan border checkpoint — around 4.5–5 hours total. The road is scenic: the Debed river gorge, and the Akpat Monastery complex (UNESCO) sits right along the way.
Armenia (3–4 days): Yerevan — a rose-tuff city with the Greater Caucasus on the horizon. Garni (1st c. AD) — the only pagan temple in the former Soviet Union. Geghard (13th c.) — a monastery half-carved into solid rock. Khor Virap — a monastery at the foot of Mount Ararat, with the best photography angle for the iconic peak.
