Georgia is a paradise for adventure seekers. Mountain rivers perfect for rafting, trekking routes through Tusheti and Svaneti, paragliding above Gudauri — all of this is accessible with an experienced private tour.

The adventure tour is designed for active travelers who want to go beyond standard sightseeing. Routes are tailored to your fitness level and available time — from a single intense day in Kazbegi to a full 3-day expedition into the high mountains. The Greater Caucasus peaks exceed 5,000 m, rivers cut dramatic gorges, and medieval towers mark some of the world's most spectacular trekking corridors.

Available Adventure Activities

Rafting on the Aragvi River (class 2–3, suitable for beginners). Season: May–September. 2–3 hours on the water, including transfer from Tbilisi.

Trekking to Abudelauri Lakes (three colored lakes at 2,800 m altitude). A one-day route from Kazbegi — white, green, and black lakes, each with a different color due to the distinct lake-bed composition.

Paragliding in Gudauri — tandem flight at 2,500+ m altitude. No experience required; the instructor handles all controls while you enjoy panoramic views of the Caucasus range.

Jeep tour through Truso Gorge — abandoned villages, mineral springs with iron oxide deposits (the "red rocks"), and volcanic landscapes accessible only by 4WD.

Safety

All activities are led by certified instructors. Timur coordinates logistics, insurance paperwork, and safety briefings so you can focus entirely on the experience.

Detailed Activity Breakdown

Rafting on the Aragvi River. Departure from Tbilisi at 09:00. After 50 minutes you reach Mtskheta and the base camp of the rafting operator. A 30-minute safety briefing is followed by gear fitting (helmet, life jacket, paddle). The float covers 8–12 km over 2–3 hours on class II–III rapids — suitable for anyone aged 12 and above with no prior experience. Key rapids include "Mtskheta" and "Aragvi" sections with several enjoyable riffles in between. Cost: ₾80–100 per person including transfer and equipment. Season: May–October. River temperature: +15–20°C.

Trekking to Abudelauri Lakes. Base: Kazbegi (Stepantsminda). Start at 08:00. The route is 22 km round trip with 900 m of elevation gain, finishing at 2,836 m above sea level. Three lakes — white, green, and black — owe their colors to the different mineral composition of their beds. The trail is not technical, but it is long: 6–8 hours in total. A moderate base level of fitness is recommended. Lunch options: packed sandwiches or food available at shepherd huts along the high pastures.

Paragliding in Gudauri. Departure from Tbilisi at 09:00. Gudauri is 120 km away; the launch site sits at 2,200 m. A tandem flight lasts 15–25 minutes, landing in the valley below. No prior experience required. Cost: ₾150–200 per person, including a video recording of your flight. Season: March–November. If winds are strong, the flight is rescheduled — the guide checks conditions the evening before.

Jeep tour through Truso Gorge. Departure from Kazbegi at 09:00. A 30 km drive along unpaved roads climbs to 2,800 m. Abandoned villages, bright red mineral springs coloured by iron oxide deposits, and the distant Ortsveri Glacier make this one of Georgia's most photogenic off-road routes. The route requires a proper 4WD vehicle (Toyota Land Cruiser or equivalent). Duration: 4–5 hours. Cost: ₾200–250 per vehicle (4 people).

Practical Tips

What to Pack

Timur's Tip

The adventure tour requires a baseline level of fitness — expect mountain hikes of 5–8 km. I provide trekking poles for anyone who needs them. The main season runs May through October. In winter I offer an alternative route using a 4WD vehicle so you still experience the mountains without the demanding terrain.

Included

  • Transfer from Tbilisi
  • Coordination with activity instructors
  • Activity equipment
  • Private tour throughout
  • Insurance

Not Included

  • Meals
  • Additional activities outside the program

Why Travelers Choose This Tour

In three years of guiding in Tbilisi I have led more than 500 tours and I know exactly what matters to international travelers: punctuality, clear information instead of vague promises, and the flexibility to adjust the route on the fly.

Every tour is private — I never fill a bus with 40 strangers. The maximum group size is 7 guests. That means you can ask any question, stop wherever you like, and spend as much time at each spot as you need.

A 4.9 out of 5 rating on Google Maps (103 reviews) is not a coincidence. I reply on WhatsApp within 10–15 minutes, send a detailed itinerary before departure, and stay reachable after the tour. Many guests come back for a second and third trip — that is the best feedback I can receive.

Detailed Routes

The route is matched to the group's fitness level. Easy option: jeep tour through Truso Gorge (3–4 hours of walking, 300 m elevation gain). Moderate: trekking to Abudelauri Lakes (three lakes — green, white, and blue — at 2,800 m). Advanced: Tusheti via the Abano Pass (2,926 m) — the highest paved mountain road in the Caucasus. Prices: one-day trek from ₾200 per group; multi-day with tent camping from ₾150 per person per day. Tent equipment provided.

Booking and Payment

Message me on WhatsApp (+995 511 272 623) — I reply within 10–15 minutes, including evenings. A 10% deposit secures the booking; the remainder is paid on the day of the tour. Accepted payment methods: Georgian lari (₾) cash, bank transfer, cryptocurrency. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. In high season (May–October) I recommend booking 3–5 days ahead.

Getting Here and Practical Information

The tour departs from your hotel in Tbilisi. I pick you up in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The maximum group size of 7 ensures individual attention for every guest. The itinerary is flexible: stops can be added or removed based on your preferences. Languages: English, Russian, Georgian.

We went to Kazbegi — Timur convinced us the special atmosphere was worth it. Snow by the church, silence. The most romantic day of the trip.
