When to visit Kazbegi
Stepantsminda lies at 1740 m, so it's always cooler than Tbilisi and the weather changes several times a day. It's best to catch the Gergeti Trinity church with its view of Mount Kazbek in the morning: by midday the peak is often wrapped in cloud. If the mountains are closed, we reschedule the trip for free.
