When to visit Tbilisi
Tbilisi sits in a basin on the Kura river, so summers here run 3–4°C hotter than the surrounding mountains. I take guests through the Old Town early in the morning or after 5 pm — in the July heat the cobblestones of Abanotubani bake, and the shade of the narrow lanes is a relief.
