When to visit Mestia
Mestia is the heart of Upper Svaneti at 1500 m, with its towers and views of snowy peaks. The hiking season to the Koruldi lakes and to Ushguli runs June to October. In winter it's a ski resort, but the pass road sometimes closes, so I always check dates against the forecast.
